CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Pokémon GO: Johto Region Event


In preparation for the upcoming Kanto Tour, Niantic has announced the Johto Region Event starting January 26th and running until January 31st.

Features

  • Wild Pokémon: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Hoppip, Aipom, Sunkern, Yanma, Murkrow, Gligar, Snubbull, Slugma, and Miltank (including shiny).
  • 5 km Eggs: Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Wooper, Tyrogue, Smoochum, Togepi (unannounced) and Larvitar.
  • Field Research: reward Stardust and encounters with Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chinchou, Mareep, Sudowoodo, and Miltank.
  • Raids:
    • 1 Star: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Mareep, Marill, and Larvitar
    • 3 Star: Togetic, Espeon, Umbreon, Skarmory, and Miltank 
    • 5 Star: Entei, Raikou, and Suicune
      • Entei: January 26th
      • Raikou: January 31st
      • Suicune: February 4th
  • Evolve the following Pokémon during the event, their Evolution will know an exclusive attack.
    • Evolve Bayleef to get a Meganium that knows Frenzy Plant.
    • Evolve Quilava to get a Typhlosion that knows Blast Burn.
    • Evolve Flaaffy to get an Ampharos that knows Dragon Pulse.
    • Evolve Pupitar to get a Tyranitar that knows Smack Down.

Ho-Oh Special Research

Task 1

  • Catch 15 Dark-type Pokémon: Great Ball x5
  • Catch 15 Shadow Pokémon: Revive x5
  • Defeat a Team Go Rocket Leader three times: Larvitar Encounter
  • Completion: PokéBall x15, Incense x1, 5,000 XP

Task 2

  • Defeat Team Rocket Leader Arlo: Max Revive x2
  • Defeat Team Rocket Leader Cliff: Hyper Potion x3
  • Defeat Team Rocket Leader Sierra: Max Potion x2
  • Completion: Ho-Oh with Earthquake Encounter

Collection Challenge

Complete the Johto-themed Collection Challenge during the event by collecting Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Sudowoodo, Sunkern, Murkrow, Smeargle, Miltank, and Larvitar to receive 15 Poké Balls, 10 Ultra Balls, and an Incense.
