CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. January is almost over and Niantic has announced the upcoming February Schedule of events.

Research Breakthrough

From February 1st to March 1st Snorlax will be the reward in Research Breakthroughs.

Raids

Legendary 5 Star Raids

  • Entei: January 16th to 31st
  • Raikou: February 1st to 4th
  • Suicune: February 4th to 9th
  • Latias and Latios: February 9th to 20th
  • Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Mewtwo: February 20th to March 1st

Mega Raids

  • Mega Ampharos, Mega Venusaur and Mega Houndoom: January 19th to February 8th
  • Mega Pidgeot, Mega Ampharos, and a TBD Mega-Evolved Pokémon: February 9th to 20th
  • Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Mega Blastoise: February 20th to March 1st

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. local time, and each hour will spotlight a different Pokémon and special bonus.

  • February 2nd: Ekans and 2x XP for evolving Pokémon.
  • February 9th: Miltank and 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • February 16th: Luvdisc and 2x XP for catching Pokémon.
  • February 23rd: Pikachu and 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.

Team GO Rocket

From February 2nd to 7th, Team GO Rocket Grunts will be appearing with previously unseen Shadow Pokémon.

  • Shadow Pokémon: Swinub, Nosepass, Aron, Spheal, Lileep, Anorith, and more.
  • Wild Pokemon: Golbat, Koffing, Ariados, Qwilfish, Sneasel, Houndour, Nuzleaf, Stunky, Skorupi, and Venipede.
  • Strange Eggs: Qwilfish, Larvitar, Corphish, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Deino.
  • One-star raids: Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Gligar, Sneasel, Shinx, and Klink.
  • Three-star raids: Nidoqueen, Ariados, Umbreon, Tyranitar, and Absol.
  • Half Egg Hatch Distance during the event.
  • The Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research begins during the Johto Celebration event and will reward a Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh that knows Earthquake.

Valentine’s Day

From February 8th to 15th, compete in the Valentine’s Day–themed Love Cup in the GO Battle League! Form a team using Pokémon that are red or pink and with a max CP of 1,500 to enter. No Legendary or Mythical Pokémon may be included on your team.

From February 14th to 18th, the annual Valentine’s Day event will take place. Player's can look forward to some Pokémon making their Pokémon GO debut as well as exclusive avatar items.

Other Updates

  • Image galleries at PokéStops and Gyms.
    • This feature will roll out in different regions over time—starting with level 40+ Trainers in New Zealand and will become available worldwide to Trainers level 38 and above toward the end of March 2021.
  • The level-up social share feature will be coming in February to Trainers worldwide.
  • Ability to transfer Legendary and Mythical Pokémon when selecting multiple Pokémon.
