Along with the New Year's Event, Niantic has announced the upcoming January Schedule of events.

Research Breakthrough

From January 1st to February 1st Chansey will be the reward in Research Breakthroughs.

Raids

Legendary 5 Star Raids

  • Ho-Oh (including shiny): January 1st to January 5th
  • Genesect holding a Burn Drive: January 5th to January 12th
  • Heatran (including shiny): January 12th to January 19th
  • Kyogre and Groudon (including shinies): January 19th to January 26th
  • TBA New Legendary Pokémon: January 26th

Mega Raids

  • Mega Charizard Y, Mega Blastoise, and Mega Abomasnow: January 5th to January 12th
  • Mega Ampharos, Mega Venusaur and Mega Houndoom: January 19th to February 8th

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. local time, and each hour will spotlight a different Pokémon and special bonus.

  • January 5th: Lillipup and 2x Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • January 12th: Drifloon and double XP for catching Pokémon.
  • January 19th: Shroomish 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • January 26th: Phanpy and 2x Candy for transferring Pokémon.
