Pokémon GO: Secrets of the Jungle Event

To celebrate the announcement of Pokémon The Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, Niantic has announced a special event in Pokémon GO. Beginning on December 14th, Jessie and James will be returning to Pokémon GO, and you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Celebi by completing limited-time Special Research.

Jessie and James & Shiny Celebi

  • A Special Research Story guided by Jesse and James will reward players with a Shiny Celebi encounter.
  • Jessie and James will be returning in their Meowth balloon.
    • Both will also have different Shadow Pokémon
      • Jessie: Scyther (including shiny), Ekans, Stantler
      • James: Pinsir (including shiny), Koffing, Grimer
    • Jessie and James’s Meowth balloon will be appearing more frequently on December 25
  • Jessie and James will appear in snapshots with Wobbuffet (including shiny) and Kantonian Meowth (including shiny) encounters.
  • Free avatar items inspired by Jessie’s and James’s outfits from Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle.

Explorer Pikachu

  • Explorer Pikachu (including shiny) will be appearing in the wild and in raids.
  • Pokémon Spotlight Hour: December 15th will be Explorer Pikachu and 2x Candy for catching Pokémon.
