Pokémon GO: October Schedule of Events

Niantic has announced the upcoming October Schedule of events. In addition they also announced the postponement of the September GO Battle Cup and Flying Cup.

Research Breakthrough

October 1st to November 1st Shedinja, the Shed Pokémon, will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter.

Limited Research Meowth

On Saturday, October 10th complete exclusive Field Research tasks to encounter Meowth originally discovered in Kanto, Alola, and Galar.

Community Day

Charmander will be the Community Day Pokémon on October 17th and will be able to evolve into a Charizard that knows Dragon Breath.

Raids

Legendary 5 Star Raids

  • September 25th to October 2nd: Zapdos
  • October 2nd to October 9th: Moltres
  • October 9th to October 23rd: Origin Forme Giratina (including Shiny)
  • October 23rd to November 3rd: Darkrai

Other Raids

Special Raid Boss will be available during the Halloween Event.

Each week in October, there’ll be a Raid Hour event on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. local time featuring that week’s Legendary Raid Boss in five-star raids.

Pokémon Spotlight Hours

Pokémon Spotlight Hour will take place every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. local time, and each hour will spotlight a different Pokémon and special bonus!

  • October 6th: World Cap Pikachu (Ash's hat from Pokémon Journeys) and 2x XP for catching Pokémon
  • October 13th: Original Ash Cap Pikachu and 2x Candy for catching Pokémon
  • October 20th: Shuppet and 2x Candy for transferring Pokémon
  • October 27th: Duskull 2x XP for evolving Pokémon

Events

Fashion-Themed Event

Longchamp x Pokémon collaboration will feature a fashion-themed event from October 2nd to October 8th.

5th Anniversary Event

To celebrate Niantic's 5th Anniversary a special event will take place in Pokémon Go on October 4th.

Autumn Event

An Autumn Themed Event will take place the weekend of October 9th and feature Deerling.

Strange Egg Event

Team GO Rocket is up to no good in this event featuring new 12km Eggs from October 12th until October 19th.

Mystery Catch Ghost Event

A Mystery Catch Event featuring Ghost-type Pokémon will take place on October 25th.

Other Events

For Halloween there will be new avatar items, a Halloween-themed Cup for GO Battle League Season 4, and the annual Halloween event. There’ll also be an event celebrating Niantic’s Anniversary and the changing of seasons.
