Star Wars Villainous by Ravensburger Coming Soon

First there was Disney Villainous, then we got Marvel Villainous, so it was only a matter of time before Ravensburger finally took on Disney’s final fandom universe Star Wars.

Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side arrives this August, and will include Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Asajj Ventress, General Grievous, and Moff Gideon as playable characters.

Just like prior versions characters aren't compatible between the three systems, so the dreams of Thanos, Madam Mim and Darth Vadar going at it will require a little house rules. Star Wars Villainous' new mechanics are also unique and distinct.

"The Star Wars Villainous game utilizes the same game system as previous Villainous releases, with new gameplay elements to fully immerse players in the Star Wars galaxy. Depending on their villain's unique power, players will use their Villain’s 'Ambition' to perform actions that power effects based on the Villain's use of the Force, strategic leadership, or sheer luck. The game also incorporates Villain-specific missions and rules for iconic ships and transports from all corners of the Star Wars galaxy."

In Star Wars Villainous players will maintain a pool of Ambition, which they will use to fuel their various actions at the table. That, along with Villainous' core mechanic Fate, will give them all the tools they need achieve their goals. Darth Vader is trying to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side of the Force, Grievous is collecting lightsabers, Asajj Ventress has to complete three of five randomly drawn missions and Moff Gideon is trying to capture Grogu.

Players will have access to a new feature, vehicles. Vehicles that are brought into play with Ambition and will provide villains with new and powerful moves to perform on their turns. Vehicles that are brought into play with Fate will be flown by heroes determined to stop the villains.

The mover game pieces included in Villainous games continue to be a focus in the Star Wars Villainous iteration. They will be made of the same material as other Villainous pieces, but each copy will be unique by including flecks of another color within the mold creating a one of a kind finish, like looking into the stars and galaxies.

Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side will have an MSRP of $39.99 and be released in August 2022. The game be for 2-4 players ages 10+ similar to Marvel Villainous and take 20 minutes per villain to play. We can anticipate there will be a Target Exclusive box with an exclusive mover similar to the Disney and Marvel versions.
