CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Pokémon TCG: 25th Anniversary First Partner Pokémon Set

The Pokémon Company released their 25th Anniversary trailer and press release today, included was the reveal of special Pokémon TCG merchandise featuring the starter Pokémon.

The First Partner Pokémon set will include a special binder featuring the 25th Anniversary Logo that will hold the oversized cards featuring Pikachu and the other first partner Pokémon from the various regions.

The cards artworks are reprints of older cards similar to the art used on the McDonald's promos and will include the original cards set icon and numbering. However unlike the McDonald's cards several are Wizards of the Coast reprints without the original copyright.

The products will be available at participating retailers and hobby shops around the world, as well as Pokémon Center in the US and Canada for $9.99 USD each.

    • One oversize binder and one oversize promo card featuring Pikachu. Holds 30 cards.
  • March 5th: First Partner Pack (Galar)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Galar region—Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • April 2nd: First Partner Pack (Alola)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Alola region—Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • May 7th: First Partner Pack (Kalos)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Kalos region—Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • June 4th: First Partner Pack (Unova)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Unova region—Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • July 9th: First Partner Pack (Sinnoh)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Sinnoh region—Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • August 6th: First Partner Pack (Hoenn)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Hoenn region—Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • September 3rd: First Partner Pack (Johto)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Johto region—Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
  • October 8th: First Partner Pack (Kanto)
    • Three oversize promo cards featuring the first partner Pokémon of the Kanto region—Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle—plus two regular Pokémon TCG boosters
