CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Pokémon TCG: Single Strike/Rapid Strike and Matchless Fighter Information

Additional information was revealed today from the promo image for the January 22nd Sword and Shield TCG set; Single Strike Master (S5i) and Rapid Strike Master (S5r), along with the Dummy pack art for the March set Matchless Fighter (S5a).

Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master was revealed awhile ago and will be split into two sets similar to Sword and Shield Base. In addition they will feature new game features;

  • New Single Spec and Rapid Spec; Items, Pokémon, and Supporters
  • New Pokémon from the Crown Tundra
  • New Special Art Pokémon cards
You can pre-order both Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master on Amazon Japan.

From the Dummy pack art of Matchless Fighter we can see both forms of Urshifu, Blaziken and Galarian Slowking who will be making it's debut in the TCG. This subset will release on March 19th and will contain 70 cards + secret cards.

In addition the previously revealed trademarks Silver Lance and Jet-Black Spirit, seem to reference Calyrex’s new forms with Glastrier and Spectrier and will most likely be set S6.
