CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Pokémon TCG: Matchless Fighters, Silver Lance, Jet-Black Spirit Trademarks

Three trademarks filed by Game Freak, Creatures, Nintendo on September 15th. These trademarks are filed under the same scope as previous trademarks used for set names. Trademarks are usually discovered five to six months in advance so these could be the Japanese March sets.

  • 双璧のファイター (Matchless Fighter/Double Fighter/Twin Fighter (Bing Translation)/Two Fighter (Google Translation))
  • 白銀のランス (White Silver Lance(Bing Translation)/Silver Lance (Google Translation))
  • 漆黒のガイスト (Jet-Black Spirit/Jet Black Geist "Poltergeist"(Bing & Google Translation))

Set trademarks are always filed together when they release together, like Single Strike Master and Rapid Strike Master. So it's unusual to see three at the same time. It's possible these could be for the next three sets, or even pre-built decks.
