CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

Image
In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Cover & Solicit 4/5

I liked the cover for this issue even though I'm not sure who the guy is. I'm not even sure if he actually makes an appearance.

Art, Colors & Inking 4/5

While the art in this issue isn't bad I'm just not sure of Valerio Schiti's and Jordie Bellaire's work. The two seem to clash, while the art looks like it could be full of detail, it seems as though the colors are slightly muted and the detail or shading seems to be missing.

Layout & Flow 2/5

Again this issue had problems with what I felt was slow pacing. It seems to take awhile for things to get going. I also have trouble reading this title because of the wording and language they use. In some instances I had to read a word bubble twice to try and understand it.

Story 3/5

This issue continues Sif's journey to become a warrior for her people and the way the world is now nobody seems to want to fight anymore. After being imbued with a berzerker spell Sif seems to want nothing more than a fight. We first find her in the bar from last issue, insulting the patrons and picking a fight. When she returns to Asguard she fights Fandral and injures Volstagg's daughter. Volstagg sends Sif's brother Heimdall to talk some sense into her. To teach her a lesson Heindall sends Sif to an alternate dimension. The story started to pick up in the end and I'm sure to pick up the next issue. I just with it was a little easier to understand.

Verdict 3.3
