Pandasaurus has announced a new 2 player set collection game District Noir is coming this summer. Preorders will start on May 19th with retail release planned for July 19th. District Noir was originally published in Japanese by Taikikennai Games in 2016 as Throne and Grail. It was then published in 2019 as Chocolate Factory by Nasza Księgarnia in Polish. The current art and theme was published last year in French by Spiral Éditions. When the time is right, gain control! At the head of the city’s largest criminal organizations, men and women fight to control territories and gain support by trying every means possible to grow their influence. Control of the District Noir, a central and highly contested area, remains the major issue that will make all the difference in dominating the city. There are two paths to victory: win over District Noir's various supports, or directly control the city’s three strategic locations. Before players can claim these, they must be played to the center

Journey into Mystery #646 - Stronger Than Monsters, Part 1 of 5 Review

Journey Into Mystery #646 Review

AN ALL-NEW JOURNEY BEGINS WHEN KATHRYN IMMONEN AND VALERIO SCHITI BRING YOU...SIF: THE BERZERKER?!

She may be a “Lady,” but girly ain’t her style! Known by many names: lover of Thor, sister of Heimdall, defender of Asgard...Sif is the ultimate faithful...sidekick?! Immortal, please.

When the latest crop of beasties beset Asgard, it’s business as usual for our sword-slingin’ heroine as she leads the battle charge—but that no-holds-barred zeal for glory may be the very thing that brings the realm down around her winged helm…!

Cover/Solicit - 4/5

- Would I pick-up the comic based on the solicit/cover alone? Are the alternate covers appealing? Does the solicit/cover portray what happens in the issue?

Art - 4/5

- Do I personally like this artist's style? Does the artist stay true to the characters appearance?

Colors/Ink/Lettering - 4/5

- Does the work blend well with the artist? Is the coloring/inking enjoyable and easy to distinguish what's happening? Can I easily read the lettering?

Layout/Flow - 3/5

- Does the layout of the issue make it easy to read? Does the issue have a good flow of the plot and keep me engaged?

Story - 3/5

- Weighted Triple. How well did the issue further develop the current story? How well did the issue further develop the characters? Did I enjoy reading the issue?

Verdict - 3.4

- I never really read Journey Into Mystery until the Exiled story arc with New Mutants. I really enjoyed the arc along with the Everything Burns arc with Thor. This issue however has left me confused. We jump right into Sif's story and its starts slow. Instead of giving new readers insight to who she is and what part she plays with the Asgardian Gods, we get introduced to existing characters and are expected to immediately know who they are and how they relate. One benefit I thought would come of Marvel NOW! is the ability for new readers to jump in and get a good start on a comic they may not read. The second thing that made it confusing is the dialogue, at times it's spoken like old Norse/Asgardian,  and others it just seems out of order or out of place for the context of the panel. They try to throw a little humor in the dialogue too but I feel it falls flat. Overall if you are a fan of prior Journey issues you will probably like this one as well, but for the new users you might want to read a few old trades involving Sif first, or just skip the series unless there is a story arc that involves a title you read.
