Project Verne: A New Chapter for Pampero

APE Games has announced Pampero: Project Verne, a major expansion for Fabio Lopiano’s acclaimed renewable‑energy Eurogame Pampero is releasing on Kickstarter January 27th. While the base game focuses on Uruguay’s transition to clean energy, Project Verne shifts the spotlight to how that energy powers transportation systems.

The expansion introduces new systems centered on green hydrogen and low‑emission mobility. Players integrate these technologies into their existing networks, balancing infrastructure, timing, and long‑term planning.

Award‑Winning Roots

Pampero already carries an impressive pedigree, including Best Euro Boardgame at UK Games Expo 2024, a Lys Expert Award finalist position in 2025, and the Dice Tower Seal of Excellence. Project Verne builds on that foundation by extending the game’s thematic and mechanical depth.

Pampero’s Biggest Expansion Yet

Project Verne is positioned as the largest expansion for Pampero to date. The original box was designed with future content in mind, and this release includes a dedicated GameTrayz insert that fits directly into the base game box.

The expansion adds new scoring paths and constraints that reward efficient, low‑emission transport networks.

APE Games lists Pampero: Project Verne as “launching soon”. Players can join the official mailing list to be notified when preorders or crowdfunding go live.
