Okko Chronicles: Ramparts of the Empire by Red Joker Games Coming Soon to Kickstarter

Become a Samurai or an Ogre in Okko's new Board Game!

Matagot announced today that Red Joker Games will be bringing Okko Chronicles: Cycle of Earth - Ramparts of the Empire to Kickstarter. Raparts of the Empire is a completely new game from the Okko Chronicles line.

Prepare to play as the legendary Ronin and his fellow companions who must stop the Karasu’s army of the dead before they sweep through the Pajan empire.

During a game, players choose which heroes they wish to play as and fight to keep the fortress they are protecting from falling under the tide of undead enemies summoned by the Karasu monks.

In addition, players must take care of Black Tiger, a ninja who has returned from the dead.

Okko Chronicles - Ramparts of the Empire can be played solo, cooperatively or semi-cooperatively and introduces a Tower Defense mechanic.

Players will also have to complete various objectives and the choices will increase the difficulty to win the scenario.

Gameplay

During a turn, each player plays one or two of their action cards; these cards give them advantages to perform the 3 actions they have.

A game ends:

- when all the Heroes are put out of action or when one of the fortress walls gives way completely, leaving the Pajan Empire to the undead,

- or when the last wave of the Karasu army breaks on the defenses of the fortress, thanks to the arrival of the Pajan army.

But beware, other parallel objectives can also influence the course of the story.

The game is part of the same range as the Okko Chroicles: Water Cycle. It can be considered as its sequel but the game mechanics are different and they can't be played together.
