CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. The World is at stake! Superheroes vs Supervillains Supercompetition


I was approached about a great contest to new artists by Inventure Cloud. Inventure Cloud is a Spanish startup for collaborative invention, funding and production of games and gadgets. The online platform starts its mission with an illustration contest to find the main character for a tabletop game project developed by its community.




Comic character design contest, Cintiq13HD at stake


Participants just need create a Superhero or Supervillain and upload it;

  • The winner will be decided by a jury and awarded with a Cintiq13HD
  • The creator Superhero or Supervillain with the largest number of votes from the community will receive its creation in a stereolithography 3D print
  • All creations may become a character of a board game developed by the community.
  • Deadline for submission is October 30th.

The winner will be decided by a professional jury and will receive a Wacom Cintiq13HD. Also, a jury from the Escuela Superior of Dibujo Profesional of Madrid (ESDIP) will award one of the creators with a scholarship for one of its renowned workshops.

The creator of the project with the largest number of votes will be awarded with a 3D printed in stereolithography (SLA) replica of its creation; the second will receive a Wacom Inkling set and the third will enjoy a voucher for the Spanish startup FabsHub.

Deadline for submission is October 30th.

Jury Decisions



Prize: Cintiq13HD

Yes! You read it right! There is a Cintiq13HD in the game and this is how we are giving it away. There will be a jury that will decide the best Superhero or Supervillain of all. The Jury will only judge characters with a minimum of 20 votes.

Prize: Scolarship at ESDIP

Learn at one of the best schools in Europe. The Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional of Madrid is offering a scholarship for one of their workshops. The Jury will be renowned Spanish artists: Kenny Ruiz, Nacho Arranz, Jose Robledo and Carlos Rodriguez.

Prize: Stereolithography

The most popular character will become a real product: The character with the largest number of votes will become a real product 3D printed using the stereolithography technique, the most advanced available.

Prize: Inkling set

Drawing to a new dimension. The second project with the largest number of votes will receive an Inkling set. 

Prize: FabsHub voucher

We are all crazy about 3D printing! The third project with the largest number of votes will receive a 3D printing voucher courtesy of our friends from FabsHub.
