CMON's SDCC Exclusives: A Betrayal to Loyal Fans and Backers?

Image
In recent years, CMON has built a reputation for creating some of the most beloved board games in the industry. Titles like Zombicide , Dune , Cyberpunk 2077 , Cthulhu: Death May Die , Arcadia Quest and Marvel United have garnered a dedicated fanbase, many of whom have supported these games through Kickstarter campaigns and retail purchases. However, CMON's recent decision to make exclusive content for these games available only at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) has sparked significant outrage among its loyal supporters. The Exclusivity Issue At the heart of the controversy are the exclusive expansions and content for Zombicide: White Death, Cthulhu: Death May Die, and Marvel United. These exclusives include: Zombicide: White Death TMNT Expansion: Featuring comics and Rocksteady and Bebop miniatures for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion. Cover & Solicit 5/5

All 3 of the covers for this issue were outstanding. The colors and the art just pop. The solicit does a good representation of the issue, even though it makes it seem that Megatron has a bigger part in the issue.

Art, Colors & Inking 5/5

Between this and More Than Meets the Eye, I like this art style better. Like I mentioned in the Spotlight: Orion Pax review I like the cleaner style and solid colors in this book.

Layout & Flow 5/5

Unlike last issue where it was a little confusing at times due to pacing this issue didn't seem to suffer. This would be an OK jumping on point for most readers and they do a decent job of explaining the current events so the reader can catch up.

Story 5/5

This issue starts with the return of Megatron from last issue. Immediately the Autobots begin to fire in the attempts to destroy him before being stopped by Metalhawk. Starscream is not afraid Megatron will steal his thunder and the rest of the Decepticons will no longer back him. Little does he know, he is correct but not in the way he thought. The Decepticons have have enough and the War for Cybertron seems to be starting again. I've really enjoyed this series, even more than MtMtE, mainly because the story seems to flow from one issue to the next with small side-stories, where MtMtE seems to have several small stories and bounces back and forth between them. This should be on everyone's Pull-list.

Verdict 5
