Cover & Solicit 4/5

I really liked this cover compared to last issues, which left you a little confused. This time you know who Captain Marvel is fighting and this fits the bill. The art and coloring are both great.

Art, Colors & Inking 5/5

I'm not always a fan of the painted style of comic books. Most of the time they seem to lose detail or they are over-saturated. That's not the case here. The art and colors are just brilliant and a treat to the eyes.

Layout & Flow 5/5

The overall flow of this issue was pretty nice. They did a great job of introducing some of Monica's powers to those who like myself might not be familiar with her. They also explained a little back-story to who and what created the monster giving again little tidbits of info that I enjoy.

Story 4/5

The issue continues from the last with Naomi & Captain Marvel fighting a Goliath creature created from ship wreckage. This issue is mostly action packed with both women giving it their all only to have the creature rebuild itself after every assault. Eventually they discover the creature was an invention of Dr. Hamontree. The creature was using the oceans currents to store electromagnetic energy to rebuild itself. Carl and Monica then decide to literally combine their powers to put the behemoth down. I was really unsure going into this mini-arc feeling from the first issue it might just be filler. Even if it was filler I feel that it was an excellent read and from the sounds of Monica we might even see her in the future.

Verdict 4.4
