Joss Whedon Confirms Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver for Avengers 2

Image
In an interview at ABC's upfront presentation, IGN.com  talked to the writer and director of the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. , Joss Whedon who confirmed that he was referring to the mutant children of Magneto , and explained the he finds them interesting; "You know, they had a rough beginning," - "They're interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn't necessarily agree with the Avengers . So they're not there to make things easier. I'm not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier." He also mentioned Tony Stark's return after the events of Iron Man 3 ; "Well, I feel like in Iron Man 3, even though he (Stark) said, 'I've changed'" - "I don’t think anybody thinks he doesn't have one anymore. The question is, if The Avengers are called, does he show up? And the answer is, 'Yes!'"

Red Hood and the Outlaws #14 Review Superman Questions the Outlaws  Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  at Comic Vine I have been really enjoying this series for some time now and I am extremely looking forward to it's role in the Death of the Family crossover. Although it's not been the overall best series DC has going the now and that some issues have been a little poor it has without a doubt been a very fun series. Plot This issues sees the Outlaws getting stopped by Superman on their way back to Earth. They manage to avoid him by teleporting away from their ship but Superman isn't that easy to avoid and soon the trio have to deal with Superman who's only wanting a friendly discussion, although the Outlaws don't see it that way.

Uncanny X-Force #34 Review Apocalypse Now  Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  at Comic Vine This has been one hell of a story and I have been enjoying it very much. After hearing how good this story-line was I decided to get the issues that were out with this being the only issue I got on release week, and I'm happy I did. Rick Remender has done a brilliant job on this series and I hope that he can put the greatness that this series will be leaving behind into another series. Plot This issue sees Genesis, now in his Apocalypse armor seek vengeance against anyone who is bad. The X-Force now have to try and stop him from succumbing to the evil nature of Apocalypse whilst battling the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants at the same time.

Guest Review: Nightwing #14 - Die for Me

Image
Nightwing #14 Review Die For Me  Original Review by  Batwatch  at Comic Vine Nightwing has been a solid book all throughout the DCNU . Last month, readers got their first glimpse of the new creative team with the new writer Tom DeFalco. DeFalco’s first story brought mixed responses from fans with many feeling that his story meandered without any solid focus, but I rather enjoyed DeFalco’s pacing as he gave due time to all the different aspects of Nightwing’s life. The focus for this month’s issue should be solidly on Lady Shiva, the assassin known as scourge of the underworld. No doubt, Nightwing and Shiva will come to blows. Do sparks fly at their reunion, or does their battle have no passion? In this issue, Nightwing looks for leads on Lady Shiva, checks up on Amusement Mile, finds out why Sonia Zucco missed their date, and does battle with Lady Shiva.

Guest Review: Hawkeye #4 - The Tape, 1 of 2

Hawkeye #4 Review Let the Bidding Begin  Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  at Comic Vine I have been enjoying this series so far as it's been amazing. I've been loving what Matt Fraction has been doing with this series and although I've loved all his one-shot Hawkeye tales so far I am happy that he's doing a story that lasts more than an issue, even if it's only two. Plot This issue sees Hawkeye get brought in by S.H.I.E.L.D. who tell him that a tape of him killing a terrorist has been put up for auction in Madripoor and that he needs to retrieve it. Hawkeye however isn't the only one after the tape, ton's of criminals are after the tape including  Madame Masque .

Batgirl & Killing Joke Injustice Gods Among Us DLC

Image
Netherrealm Studios has provided  MKSecrets a preview of the next DLC items, Batgirl and The Killing Joke skin pack. You can watch the trailer below. If you haven't bought the game yet you should, it's awesome. I'm not much of a fighter game guy myself, I usually play them solo. The story mode in Injustice is great and the skill level isn't that difficult as I was able to beat the Story and Ladder modes on medium difficulty. Pick the game up on Amazon now.

Guest Review: Catwoman #14 - To Skin a Cat

Image
The Jokes on Us Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  from Comic Vine I have enjoyed the better part of this series but it's not been brilliant and since Ann Nocenti joined as writer it has dropped even further down in quality. Plot This issue sees Catwoman at the mercy of Joker who has strapped a bomb to the chest of a child Catwoman was was trying to save. Joker continues to play with Catwoman telling her that all he wants is for her to play her part in his scheme.

DC Cancels Four 'New 52' Titles

Image
Well it looks like DC has canceled another four of their New 52 titles. August will be the final issues for Threshold , Demon Knights , Dial H , and Legion of Super-Heroes . I never really cared for Legion since the beginning and I'm shocked it lasted this long. I personally liked Legion Lost more, and of course it has already been canceled. I was reading Dial H, although never really got into it and not surprised it's going. Threshold on the other hand has me confused since it's a newer title and seemed like a good place to put characters like Blue Beetle , Larfleeze and DC's other space related characters. I have mixed feelings about Demon Knights, I never read it but after seeing a preview on Comic Vine I was tempted to pick it up. Oh well, I guess we will have to wait and see what comics they replace them with. I hope they bring back maybe a few Wildstorm characters. What I don't want to see is another four Bat books, or more Super books. It's

Guest Review: Birds of Prey #14 - Three Hours of the Condor

Image
Three Hours of the Condor Original Review by  Batwatch  from Comic Vine Just over the past week, I read the first volume of DCNU Birds of Prey , and I was surprised because it was good. The recent issues of Birds have averaged out to be okay, but it is really nothing special. The writer is the same, so how has this series managed to go from being high quality to its meh inducing current quality? At the moment, I have no answers, but I can say that I go into this issue without particularly high hopes. Birds of Prey #13 was a bit confusing in parts with the ill defined character of Condor, and generic at other points with the ninja hoards which are beginning to become a really stale trope in the Batman universe. There is a hint of something going on in Katana’s past with the Daggers which could be interesting, and this plot element could very well be the springboard for her upcoming ongoing comic, but beyond that, there is little to last month’s issue worth praising other tha

Guest Review: Deadpool #2 - We Fought A Zoo

Image
Animal Rights Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  from Comic Vine I loved the first issue of this series and I was very happy to see Deadpool get not just a good new series, but a great one. I have loved the character for a number of years now but I don't think I have read as good a start to a Deadpool story let alone series prior to this an Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan have done an amazing job with the character. Plot This issue sees Deadpool still out for the count after being shot by Abraham Lincoln, and is dreaming about female superheroes including Invisible Woman , Emma Frost and She-Hulk fighting over his affection. He wakes to be greeted by the ghost of Benjamin Franklin who offers to help him with his undead presidents issue. After calling into S.H.I.E.L.D. Deadpool gets his next target, Theodore Roosevelt.

Guest Review: Batwoman #14 - World's Finest, Part III: Heart of Stone

Image
Heart of Stone Original Review by Batwatch  from Comic Vine It is time once again for my favorite Bat book, Batwoman . Ever since the DCNU began over a year ago, Batwoman has been producing consistently excellent stories. Perhaps even more impressive, all the issues thus far have been one large story arc centering around Batwoman’s fight with Medusa. It appears everything is finally coming together and readers are nearing the end of this epic. The last issue left us with our heroic duo encountering Pegasus, the broken son of Medusa. Does this issue deliver a stunning tale, or is it merely a festering mess? In this issue, Batwoman and Wonder Woman strike a deal with Pegasus, a mercy killing for information on Medusa.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Cast Marvel & ABC have released the first full preview of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D . and from the looks of things Agent Coulson is alive? The preview states this will continue from what started in The Avengers . I was originally under the impression it was going to be some kind of prequel, but looks like things changed. Joss Whedon is directing the show and it will premier spring of 2013. Can't wait.

Guest Review: Captain America #1 - Castaway in Dimension Z, Chapter One

Image
Cap's 90th Birthday Original Review by  Johnkmccubbin91  from Comic Vine This was the Marvel NOW! series I was most skeptical about. I love Rick Remender's work in general, especially on Uncanny X-Force , and Venom , but following such a great run left by Ed Brubaker, which has been the best Captain America run I have ever read I wasn't sure that even Remender's skills could top this. Plot This issue starts with a flash back showing Captain America's mother getting beat up by his father. It then cuts to the present where we see Captain America taking down the Green Skull. Captain America then goes to meet his girlfriend Sharon Carter who has a present for his 90th Birthday. Cap then lands up getting captured by an old foe, Arnim Zola.
